Let yourself be seduced by a mermaid.
This colorful painting is a new departure from my usual style of abstract expressionism and is a move into painted stained glass. After over 22 years of mostly abstract work, I decided to experiment with life experiences and connect abstract psychedelic work with such a new visual. As a long-time diver, I decided to paint a view of an underwater coral reef whose environment I know very well. In the center of the painting, I placed the figure of an almost naked woman. The sea fairy has no tail, she is more of a scuba diver than a mythical creature. In the background is a shipwreck, which is observed by two divers. On the sides there are many types of corals and small fish that can be seen on a tropical coral reef. The painting is made mainly with oil paints, in combination with acrylic markers.
